Wedi produce a range of Tilebacker Board which provides the ideal base for tiling in wet areas. It is waterproof giving peace of mind to the specifier and the installer. Wedi also offer a range of Fundo Shower bases that can be ised to create fully tiled showers and stylish wet rooms.

Fundo Spiral - Before Fundo Spiral - AfterFundo - Inspiration

There are several configurations of rectangular walk-in shower bases available (below and right). All are 40mm thick at the perimeter edges.

In addition to those illustrated, we now supply the following sizes:
1200 x 900 offset drain
900 x 750 central drain
1400 x 900 central drain
1500 x 900 central drain
1400 x 1000 central drain
1500 x 1000 central drain

A careful plan should be made of how the tiles are to be laid

There is a 'valley' running from the centre of the Fundo to each corner (see white dotted lines). It is important to cut tiles for the edges to follow the direction of this fall across the whole area of the Fundo (below)

The surrounding tiling can follow any desired run - an example of one approach to this can be seen on the top right. Another is illustrated below.

If the tiles bridge the 'valley lines', they may fail, offer a raised profile or water may not drain away properly.

The first stage of tiling is to install the grid support frame(right). The extension collar should be cut to length if it is required to compensate for the thickness of the tiles or stone.

Apply cement-based flexible adhesive to the top surface of the Fundo. Make sure that the corners of the grid support align with the corners of the Fundo.

Apply more adhesive and commence tiling (below).

That concludes the installation sequence for wedi Fundo.

Impey - the home of the AquaDec

What is the Aqua-Dec?

If it's an instant wetroom shower floor you are looking for then you have come to the right place.
The Aqua-Dec is the original wetroom floor former designed and manufactured by Impey UK.

We have designed the Aqua-Dec to provide the installer with the means of instantly creating a wetroom shower floor base, without the worry or hassle of having to manually create falls, or setting drains into a sand and cement mix.  The 'Dec simply slots in alongside the existing floor boards and is connected to a drainage outlet. It just rests on the joists and is screwed into position, then you tank the floor including the 'Dec and it's ready to tile.  It doesn't get any easier than that!

Plus the Aqua-Dec can easily cope with loads up to 40 stone and comes with a 15 year warranty.

(Note: The Aqua-Dec is also suitable for setting into concrete floors)

Tilesafe Membrane

A cold applied, self adhesive , water-proof membrane consisting of a thick bitumen based layer that incorporates a woven glass fibre mesh on one side for the application of tiles.
