All taps are hand cast, hand forged, hand polished and hand assembled.
Our luxury goods cover brassware, chinaware, baths and marble consoles produced in Massa Carrara.
From our archives we have produced a historically referenced range of essential bathrooms. Our story spans the last century from the tap’s domestic origins in the late Victorian era through to the beginning of a new millennium.
We begin in 1900 with our Edwardian turn of the century British range. Our curvaceous French range follows. The 1930s range encompasses the Art Deco period. Our glamorous 1940s range includes panels of hand applied black lacquer. In the 1950s we have the west coast streamlined style, evocative of the great American automobiles. Our definitive minimalist range, machined from solid stainless steel completes the century.
These classic products still stand the test of time. They were beautifully made, beautifully practical and they remain beautiful today.
We hope the pleasure we receive in developing and producing these products is transferred as you use these exceptional classics of the last century.
TRANSFORMING THE BATHROOM INTO A LIVING ENVIRONMENT
The personality of this highly traditional Swiss brand reflects a symbiosis of design, quality and functionality. LAUFEN, the premium brand under the ROCA umbrella, is one of the world's leading manufacturers with a global distribution network.
The company's core competence is its knowledge in the area of sanitaryware manufacturing. Over 120 years, the LAUFEN brand has been using the oldest malleable material known to man to make innovative sanitary products in state-of-the-art plants with legendary Swiss precision. Knowledge of the bathroom as a whole developed from the competence of LAUFEN in ceramics manufacturing, and sophisticated design. What makes LAUFEN products unique at the first glance is that their Swiss design unites two major design trends: emotional Italian design from the south and the northern tradition of design precision and clarity.
For LAUFEN, quality has two aspects: manufacturing knowledge and high degree of practical benefit that the finished bathroom affords the customer - which is often not immediately apparent. LAUFEN, a Swiss company manufacturing products that allow water, a precious resource, to be used sparingly, demonstrates in this manner a commitment to preserving natural resources and environmentally- friendly production.
There are no shortcuts at Samuel Heath. Which is why craftsmanship still lies at the heart of the company’s manufacturing processes.
Alongside state of the art manufacturing technology a unique blend of traditional time-honoured techniques are employed to ensure the highest quality of production.
Craftsmanship is core to Samuel Heath’s continued pursuit of manufacturing excellence. Whilst individual components are precision machined, to ensure the inherent strength of the metal is retained and enable the precise manufacture of intricate designs, the meticulous attention to detail that is required to produce the finest bathroom fittings and architectural hardware means that experienced craftsmen finish every product by hand.
Samuel Heath insists on hand polishing for example to ensure the smoothest and most adhesive surface for high quality plating. Each component goes through multiple stages of hand polishing by our skilled craftsmen. The requirement is a perfectly smooth finish for flawless plating. It takes many years to fully train a Samuel Heath polisher, but investment in people and quality has always been at the company’s heart.
Quality and craftsmanship go hand in hand at Samuel Heath. Every tap for example is assembled by hand and individually tested before leaving our factory, to ensure the highest performance and quality. True to the same principle every single one of our shower baskets are constructed by hand. Each basket ‘wire’ is hand positioned and crimped securely in place, never soldered, so the basket will remain perfect for years to come. At Samuel Heath we aim to always use the best production method available and it is our expert assemblers who ensure through a combination of time honoured processes and modern technology that each Samuel Heath product is special.
Quality and integrity are still the key reasons that people buy British. Manufacturers in the UK often offer a level of reassurance that can’t be offered elsewhere, with more transparency when it comes to the provenance of their products and the sustainability of their manufacturing processes.
Yet increasingly the demand for British products is also about the recognition of high-quality, high-end design as British designers and manufacturers become internationally recognised for innovation and quality.
Samuel Heath take the design of its products seriously and whilst manufacturing a new piece can take a couple of days in the factory, the work done in developing and designing a new product or collection spans months, if not years. The development of design technology has certainly contributed to our ability to explore new design and the aim is to produce products that offer excellence in both form and function.
As a responsible British manufacturer, sustainability remains of utmost importance to Samuel Heath.
Luxury need not to cost the earth and the company believes you can choose quality and style without compromising the planet.
Making high quality products is not just about the end result, but about the process in which products are made and Samuel Heath works hard to minimise its impact and ensure the highest levels of environmental accountability.
All of the company’s products are made in-house at its Birmingham factory. From design and tooling, to machining and electro-plating, Samuel Heath has complete control over the quality of its products and its manufacturing process at every stage.
Only the finest quality materials are used and these are sourced locally within the Midlands, whilst 80 per cent of the company’s raw materials and packaging are made from 80 per cent recycled materials. Energy consumption and waste production within the factory are monitored carefully and a comprehensive water recycling and brass reprocessing programme ensures efficiency and responsibility throughout.
Samuel Heath’s taps and showers are also designed to allow good flow even for traditional British low pressure systems and as its products are made from solid brass, they are almost completely recyclable.
It’s a process that consumers can trust and is the reason that Samuel Heath is still able to produce some of the best bathroom fittings and ironmongery in the world from its factory in the heart of England.

Design is at the core of the VitrA brand. In order to demonstrate its commitment to innovation and to bringing millennia of Turkish ceramic and bathing culture into the 21st century, VitrA has built a stable of designers that help identify new directions within bathroom and tile design.
However, rather than creating fleeting moments of creativity, VitrA is interested in the longevity of collaborations, nurturing these relationships over time. This approach has made VitrA internationally recognized for its sophisticated aesthetic and fine-tuned ideas and concepts, which have earned the brand some of the world’s most prestigious design awards over the years.
VitrA's rich heritage can be traced back to 1909, when renowned Turkish pharmacist Süleyman Ferit Eczacibaşi began producing bathing and cologne products at his pharmacy in Izmir.
Three decades later, his son, Dr Nejat Eczacibaşi, took the family business a step further by establishing a pharmaceutical laboratory in Istanbul. The business continued to grow steadily, and by 1952 he had opened Turkey's first modern pharmaceutical factory. Within a few years, Eczacibaşi's vision had grown further still, and with the establishment of Turkey's first ceramic sanitaryware factory in 1958, VitrA was born.
